Noisey.com is in assosiation with Vice Magazine, and back in March when Wiley performed at the Lacoste party they caught up with him. Noisey sat down with Wiley, and also played Ping Pong with him infact, during their interview. There's also footage from the night, interviews with a couple of fans, and Wiley talks about how he does more work than he actually should music wise.
Rival - Light Work [Video]
![]() |
| (Photography by Kids of Grime) |
Rival is showing up several Grime artists this year. His work-rate is next to none, and in every single track its fresh bars. Yesterday you saw the Aaron Hanson directed video Charlie Sheen, today it's yet another video from Rival. This time around Word on Road shot the video for Light Work. If you don't know who Rival is by the end of the year, or if Rivz isn't in your top three by the end of it either, then there's something very wrong going on...
Lady Leshurr @ G-Shock East Sessions [Video]
![]() |
| (Photography by Kids of Grime) |
One of the Grimier names down at the latest G-Shock East Sessions was the 0121 representer Lady Leshurr. Making the trip down from the Midlands to the East End here's a clip from the night. A few weeks back Lady Leshurr uploaded a video of herself spitting to Chris Brown, Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes - Look At Me Now. The female rapper matched Busta's tounge twisting flow perfectly and reenacted the feat in Shoreditch last Friday.
Marger - Sneaky EP [Free Download]
As a warm up for the Cheeky EP out next month, here's the latest free download from Marger. The East London Grime MC took a bit of time out to reflect on his career in music, and he's back with two releases in a short period of time. Whilst the Sneaky EP is a free download, the Cheeky EP will not be. Pick up the Sneaky EP for free via MediaFire.
Rude Kid - Dr Pepper (Instrumental) [Free Download]
Rude Kid is easily one of the best producers around in the Grime scene. It's rare that the top producers give away their beats, so when they do you best snap them up. One of the latest doing the rounds on the interenet is Dr Pepper by Rude Kid himself. Given out via his Facebook page you can download the instrumental here, and listen to a radio rip below.
Dot Rotten - People You Know x Bad Tonight [Free Download/Radio Rip]
Two new tracks featuring Dot Rotten today. The first of the two being the usual free download to promote the Above the Waves EP. People You Know is more of a Hip-Hop track more than a Grime one. Dot has seemed to heavily move towards the Hip-Hop sound of late with his more mature music. You can download that track via his website here as usual.
The second sees Dot feature on a Dubstep track. It's a radio rip of the track Bad Tonight alongside Russo. Dot only has sixteen bars on the track though.
Macca - Reppin' For Ages [Video]

Last November the blog turned a year old, and around that time I released the One Year EP. The reason behind this was to celebrate the blogs birthday with a little free download for the fans. One of the tracks I receieved for the EP was from Macca of Stay Fresh. Reppin' For Ages is not only from this 5 track EP, but it'll also feature on Macca's forthcoming mixtape too. Download the track alongside other tunes from Rival, Marger and Doller Da Dustman here.
Rival - Charlie Sheen (Winning) [Video]
Rival recieved the beat from Flava D, wrote to it, recorded it and mixed it down all within a day. Logan Sama then span the track on his show the next day. Continuing with the fast and hard work was Aaron Hanson and his team on the video. The video was shot and also edited within 24 hours too. Flava D sampled Charlie Sheen on the beat with Rival working around this. Check the video below and if you're interested in any of the clothing, it's all by Self Gained Treasures.
OUAG x Spooky - A Bag of Myths Competition Winner [Competition]
With Spooky giving all 300 away, if you didn't win today you can still get your hands on one. Simply contact Spooky via Facebook or Twitter, pay for postage and packaging and you can get your hands on the vinyl. But the person who's got a free copy via our blog is Michael Lees who answered corrected. It was infact P Money who vocalled Doctor P's original Sweet Shop beat in which Spooky has remixed for a Bag of Myths. Spooky is also giving away the vinyls at his booking, you'll catch those dates after the jump and the MP3 download of the EP here.
OUAG x Spooky - A Bag of Myths Vinyl Giveaway [Competition]
Due to a so called 'uncleared sample' during the Born Invisible track Spooky couldn't put out the Bag of Myths EP. The EP is full of remixes such as Born Invisible Remix, Sweet Shop Remix, Cheque 1-2 and Bashment Woo. Since Spooky can't put it out for sale he's giving away all 300 of the vinyls for free! Over here at Once Upon A Grime we've got a copy lined up for a fan to have for free. Simply hit the jump for the question and if you don't win, don't worry, there's also dates for Spooky's booking where he'll be giving away the vinyls too. If you want the EP for your iPod though, download it here for free.
Siris - Deadcloud Freestyle [Video]
The media based company out of Essex are looking to build a name for themseleves this year and it's off to a good start. They've already filmed Dream Mclean Feat. Siris - Coke and Vodka, and next it's Dream Mclean's latest track Golden. Every member of the Regime have had a freestyle filmed by Deadcloud and here's Siris' one.
Teddy - Wow Bass Level 4 (Out Today) [Release]
Teddy, formerly known as Silencer, was the producer of 2009. You couldn't listen to a set without a Teddy beat, go to a rave without it being in the mix, or simply go a week without a Grime artist vocalling his riddims. 2010 saw Teddy become a little quiet but his beats were still constantly in rotation. This year sees the fourth edition of the Wow Bass series released. Entitled Wow Bass Level 4 it includes beats vocalled by the OGz duo of P Money and Blacks, JME and Sharky Major. His latest instrumental which lies at the centre of his forthcoming project called Grime is also avaliable on the release. You'll recognise that track as Dot Rotten, Lil Nasty, Griminal and Ghetts all jumped on the beat recently.
Download the EP via Amazon now where you'll also find the tracklisting.
Lee Brasco - Wankers [Video]
![]() |
| (Photography by Kids of Grime) |
Everybody knows Wiley - Gangsters, and here's Lee Brasco's re-make. Lee Brasco has re-wrote Gangsters in a comical style but keeping to the original track as much as possible. It's a very creative idea by Brasco and I'm suprised more people haven't been talking about the track. Keep an eye out for more new music from Lee later this year.
Mr Mitchell Feat. Ghetts - Off The Coathanger Remix [Audio]
Formerly one half of the Mitchell Brothers, Mr Mitchell was hinting about a remix of Off The Coathanger recently on Twitter. It turns out he's recruited Grime veteran Ghetts to drop a few bars on the remix. The Mitchell Brothers always thought outside the box musically and Mr Mitchell is continuing this with his new found sound. Listen to the Siggi production below and the latest Ghetts It In Gang episode after the jump.
Tinchy Stryder Feat. Dappy - Spaceship (Acoustic) [Video]
On 12th June Tinchy Stryder will release another track with Dappy from N-Dubz. They first hooked up for the track Number 1 which ironically hit that in the charts. The duo are back again with Spaceship which'll be released next month. Tinchy and Dappy came together to perform an acoustic version of the track for SB.TV.
Scorcher - 96 Bars of Revenge [Free Download]
This is the old school Scorcher we like. Scorch surprised his fan base the other day by unleashing this 96 Bars of Revenge freestyle. Back in the day everyone from JME to Tinchy Stryder has a version, so for those new Grime fans, this is a classic beat. Scorch brought back the Scorcher with shank and gun bars that got his name in the Grime scene. He can go off and make his mainstream tracks if he likes, but tracks like these once in a while won't go a miss. Download here.
Diesle, Jammin, Rival, Badness & Jamakabi - After Hours Set [Video]
![]() |
| (Photography by Kids of Grime) |
Durrty Goodz made a feature two weeks back with his crew, and last week was P Money and Blacks on a old school vinyl set. This week it's the turn of Diesle to promote his mixtape I Have The Power. Alongside the one of the main guys to push the Grime scene was four other MCs. Jammin, Rival, Badness and Jamakabi all hopped on the set to spit bars whilst DJ Logan Sama was on the decks. Pick up the dark red on white Once Upon A Grime t-shirt Rival is wearing on our BigCartel.
Diary of Big Narstie (Ep. 1) [Video]
If music failed for Big Narstie being a comedian would have easily been the next step. If you've ever listened to an interview/track or follow him on Twitter you'll understand. Big Narstie is a light-hearted character and you'll see this from the outset of his new Diary of Big Narstie feature. For episode one the South Londoner takes a trip to the West of London to Global Sports in Shepherds Bush. Whilst there Narst drops a freestyle with some new lyrics
.
Styler Feat. Dimples & Rival - In The City [Video]
The GFam North London duo of Styler and Dimples have come together once again via a Chillz of Sanus Rex beat. In The City also features on of the most saught after Grime artists around at the moment too, Rival. Rivz has constantly been putting in work with new mixtapes, EP and features such as this one. Dimples has the Last Laugh Volume 3 tonight at midnight, and In The City will feature on Stylers next project.
Catch Styler in the new white on Irish green Once Upon A Grime top, Rival in the dark red on white, and Dimples in the dark yellow on navy crew neck. Pick up any of these items of clothing via our BigCartel.
Skillioso Feat. Nico Lindsay, Dimples, Marger & Fumin – Policeman [Video]
We've already heard Rival vocal the Policeman beat with a freestyle, but now it's the turn of some of the finest in Grime to vocal it. You've got the likes of Dimples and Fumin who've been around in the scene for years, then you've got Nico Lindsay and Marger who've really started to make a name for themselves in the past year or so. Skillioso on the beat and also spits a few bars during the track too.
Blacks Feat. Lauren Mason & Jammer - Madness [Video]
Another track entitled Madness from Blacks, but this doesn't feature fellow OGz crew member P Money. Although saying that, it is off the Blacks and P release. Blacks jumps on Dubstep once again, a genre which himself and P Money favour a lot more nowadays. Lauren Mason who featured on the One Year EP is on the hook with Grime scene veteran Jammer also jumping on with a few bars.
Dream Mclean - Golden (Teaser) x Deadcloud Freestyle [Video]
Dream Mclean's status has grown dramtically since I interviewed him way back in September of last year. 1Xtra constantly seem to be spinning his tracks and he's made a good handful of appearances on the station now, mainly Cameo's show. We're still waiting for Logan to bring him for a set on Kiss though. Deadcloud have filmed both of the following videos you're about to see. First off is the teaser of Golden. The track seems to be more of a deeper track from the Essex based artist compared to the likes of Saxon and Who's Dat? Also catch Dream's acapella freestyle after the jump.
Scrufizzer Feat. Abel Miller - Deep Thoughts x Link Up TV Freestyle [Video]
Easily one of the best artists in West London and Grime right now, Scrufizzer has two new videos for your eyes and ears today. Not music videos though. The first of the two is his acoustic version of Deep Thoughts with Abel Miller on the hook. The second which you can catch after the jump is his Link Up TV Freestyle.
Durrty Goodz - Don't Ask Me [Video]
It's got just short of 10k views in a few days, and with the release of Overall today, expect that to grow. Don't Ask Me is the second video taking from Doogz album, Oi What You Looking At? being the first. Doogz' previous video got the public talking due to how different it was compared to all the other Grime videos around at the moment. Don't Ask Me is a well shot video, but nothing really out of the ordinary like Oi What You Looking At? Pick up Overall via Amazon today.
S.Samuel + Kasimo - Deadcloud Freestyle [Video]
![]() |
| (Photography by Kids of Grime) |
One artist we've been keeping an eye on this year is Regime's crew member S.Samuel. Hailing from Colchester in Essex S-Dot spits on anything from Grime to Dubstep to Hip-Hop. His latest freestyle came in the form of a Hip-Hop one for Deadcloud. Also if you remember Kasmio who made a track with Siris a few weeks back entitled U Ain't Hard, check his Dubstep freestyle after the jump.
J2K - London Girl [Video]
With the Roll Deep tour long gone now, the members of the crew are working on their own solo work more. We regulary hear new music from Manga, but J2K is also putting in the work in the studio too. Don't forget he also ghost writes too. One of his most recent tracks to have a video shot for it is London Girl. During the video you'll see J cruise through various parts of the city with a more dance vibe to the track rather than gritty Grime.
Dimples - This & That [Video]
With the Last Laugh Volume 3 out soon the promo for the release has started. Expect to see your Twitter timeline filled with info regarding the release and videos from the mixtape too. One track that recently had a viedo shot for it was This and That. Filmed by UK Overstood Dimples vocals a Flava D beat. Dimples spits about other people talking about who's doing what and what they haven't done. Rumors and people talking about his name in a nutshell.
Diesle Feat. Jamakabi - Grime Veterans [Video]
The latest video you'll catch a bit of Once Upon A Grime attire in is Diesle's newest video Grime Veterans. Diesle who was one of the orginal Grime MCs to push the scene pages homage to the other artists who've also helped the scene from the start. Such names as Dizzee Rascal, Kano, D Double E and of course Wiley himself. Jamakabi is on the hook and Grime Veterans has been taken from Diesle's forthcoming album I've Got The Power out on the 23rd May. Catch Diesle's freestyle for the Grime Report after the jump and buy your Keep Calm and Listen to Grime t-shirts here.
New Once Upon A Grime Clothing In Stock Now [Clothing]
New stock has now been added to the BigCartel store. Excuse the photo's, a photoshoot is being done on Sunday and better quality images will be uploaded next week. We've got three new colours in the Once Upon A Grime range which'll you'll be able to see on our BigCartel. Above you can see the black on yellow haze chosen for the summer range. We've also got new white t-shirts in with dark red print. Another colour chosen especially for the summer this year being Irish green with white print. You can pick all three of these tops up via BigCartel.
New Keep Calm and Listen to Grime colours and re-stock should be avaliable from next week. One large and one XL jumpers have been re-added to the online store. A XL navy zipped jacket has also been added too. Due to the printers mistakes we also now have a re-stock on purple t-shirts too. So if you wanted a small, large or XL but couldn't get one, you're in luck. Pick those up again via BigCartel.
Snakeyman Feat. Young Mad B - Famous [Video]
![]() |
| (Photography by Kids of Grime) |
It seems the release of Snakes and Ladders was a long time ago now, but Snakeyman hasn't stopped making music since. Since the release of his free mixtape download Snakeyman has been keeping busy. As well as making music he's also an actor. One of his latest tracks that he shot a video for was Famous.
OGz - Logan Sama After Hours Set [Video]
Last week Durrty Goodz was on the show alongside Armzout, Mr A and Scarz for the first of the After Hours set. The latest set sees South London's OGz enter the Kiss buildings for a set. This time it was the trio of P Money, Blacks and Little Dee. To celebrate the release of Boo You by P and Blacks Logan decided on an old school set. Using on strictly vinyls listen and watch the set below shot by Cameraman Sketch.
Big Narstie - Talking Hard [Video]
Big Narstie took 2011 by storm with the Pain Therapy EP. He was constantly getting his tracks played on the airwaves and hood videos were always popping up. Big Narst also jumped on the Pull Up 2011 riddim too. The NAA representative fills Talking Hard full of real life problems from his own experiance that many can easily relate too. That's one of the reasons why Big Narstie is so popular, he never lies or fronts during his tracks. Catch the making fo Talking Hard after the jump.
Marger - Heatwaves Freestyle [Video]
So Marger is now back on the scene. He took a little break for a few weeks and has already released info regarding his forthcoming release the Sneeky EP. That'll be out on the 30th May. The artwork for the EP will be avaliable to see after the jump. One of the first videos since returing to Grime and Twitter infact is this Heatwaves freestyle for Word On Road. You may recognise the beat as Trilla previously vocalled it.
Edit: Marger at I Luv Live after the jump.

P Money & Magnetic Man @ Radio 1's Big Weekend [Video]
![]() |
| (Photography by Kids of Grime) |
Probably one of the most unexpected names to see on the line-up was P Money. Even though he hit many festivals last year, these sorts of gigs come as a suprise still. P was at Radio 1's Big Weekend with the trio of Dubstep producers named Magnetic Man. For those who don't know that's Benga, Skream and Artwork. The OGz frontman performed Anthemic on the day. Don't forget P Money and Blacks - Boo You is out today via iTunes.
Dot Rotten - Microphone [Free Download]
The latest free download from Dot via his website is Microphone. More than likely you would have heard this track via Logan Sama's show a good few weeks back. In the build up to the Above the Waves EP Dot is releasing free tracks every two weeks to build up the hype. To download Microphone head over to ItsDotRotten.com to pick it up.
Chronik - Ring (Live) [Video]
![]() |
| (Photography by Kids of Grime) |
As you would have seen if you check the blog daily Avit's 5th birthday party was on Saturday night. A number of names performed on the evening including Slew Dem's Chronik. The Grime Report was down at the event capturing all the nights performances and one of them was Ring by Chronik. Check out the live performance below.
S.Samuel - RedRum [Audio]
![]() |
| (Photography by Kids of Grime) |
The last time we heard S.Samuel he tore apart Flawless' beat during his End Of freestyle, he's done the same with a Dubstep beat produced by Smudge. Many names were thrown up at the start of this year to look out for, but if S.Samuel mixtape drops anytime soon, he'll over-take those names in an instant. For those who don't know S.Samuel is apart of the Essex based crew Regime.
Byron - Demons [Video]
When Byron makes Grime, it's heavily Hip-Hop influenced. This track on the other-hand, simply Hip-Hop. Byron returns after a period away from the game with the dark violin strong track Demons. As you can guess from the title the Slough rapper talks about all the temptations in life and harsher (if that's a word) times in life. Demons has been lifted from Deep Lyrics, Dirty Beats Part 1 which is out on the 30th May.
Devlin @ Radio 1's Big Weekend [Video]
We've seen footage of Wretch 32 and Example, plus today I posted Tinie Tempah's performance, but there's more. Straight out of Dagenham and to the most northern town in England before you hit sunny Scotland Devlin also performed at Radio 1's Big Weekend. Devlin performed on the New Music We Trust stage at the long weekend event. The final track of his six track performance was one of his singles from Bud, Sweat and Beers entitled Runaway featuring Yasmin.
Tinie Tempah @ Radio 1's Big Weekend [Video]
The past few days the blog has looked like a Tinie Tempah fan boy club with the amount of blog posts we've had about him. As I said yesterday with the Wretch 32 and Example video, you're going to probably see a load of Radio 1's Big Weekend videos. Here's Tinie performing Simply Unstoppable which saw him link up with Travis Barker for the track. The former Blink 182 drummer wasn't in Carlisle to perform with Tinie though. Watch the full half an hour set over on the BBC's website here.
Diesle Feat. Fumin - They're Not Wicked [Video]
![]() |
| (Photography by Kids of Grime) |
Diesle is total has/will shoot six videos over the past/coming weeks. I think three or four have already been done already with a further two to go. One of the videos that was shot recently was alongside Fumin. The duo have done many tracks together down the years and here's their latest. The video was shot and edited by Profits of WMT.
Dot Rotten - Young Dot Resurrected [Free Download]
A few years back Dot Rotten killed off Young Dot. He was a more energetic and hyped up Dot Rotten. As time went by Dot decided against this and thought it was time for a more mature artist, hense the name change from Young Dot to Dot Rotten. The RIP Young Dot mixtape confirmed this. Dot brings back his former-self for the track Young Dot Resurrected where he brings back old school bars and flows for the track. You can download the track for free here.
Daily Clothing Deal - White Top Now £8 [Clothing]
With the new stock hopefully arriving tomorrow, this'll be the last clothing deal or sale item for a while. Everything that is currently on sale will stay on sale until I simply run out of stock. Whether it'll ever be re-stocked though is a different question. The final deal of the week is the black on white Once Upon A Grime t-shirt. The price like the other t-shirts in the daily deals has dropped from £15 to £8. So if you want a bargin fresh white tee for the summer, get it now via BigCartel.
Wretch 32 & Example @ Radio 1's Big Weekend [Video]
This'll probably be the first of many video's you'll see from this weekends events. Wretch's debut single Traktor shot him to fame mainstream wise and he hasn't looked back since. Now he's on big festival stages alongside another name who's shot up over the past year or so, Example, performing to huge crowds. Expect to see more of the same throughout the summer this year from the Tottenham rapper.
Ego - Engineer's Choice [Audio]
Whilst Merky ACE and M.I.K have been the two names who've really pushed the Family Tree camp in the last year or so, it seems the other members of the crew want to create their own limelight nowadays. Shif Man has Boom out next month, and Ego has a new mixtape entitled Actually Active which should be out this summer. Engineer's Choice which is produced by Ruff Sqwad's Rapid sees Ego skip through the track with his own flow plus various others which you'll recognise from the Family Tree crew.
Tinie Tempah x DJ Whoo Kid - Foreign Object [Free Download]
Since their last joint mixtape back in December, a lot of things have changed for Tinie Tempah. He's now a platinum artist in the UK and is currently touring the world, mainly looking to break America. A top ten track coming in at number six wasn't a bad start. The Foreign Object mixtape is full of tracks with Tinie spitting lyrics over the latest and greatest sounds coming from across the pond. You'll catch his recent 6 Foot 7 freestyle on there alongside the Hustle Hard freestyle which we saw him record in the studio recently. His forthcoming single with Wiz Khalifa, which'll feature on the US release of Disc-Overy, also makes a feature too. Download here and catch the tracklisting after the jump. Listen out for the snippets from Russel Brand's recent interview where he refuses to talk about anything but Tinie too.
Daily Clothing Deal - Zipped Navy Jacket Now £18 [Clothing]
The daily clothing deal is almost at an end for this season. All week I've been reducing prices even more on sale for one day only to offer my blog readers even more savings than normal! Today it's the turn of the zipped jacket. We've only got one left in a size small, so if you don't want to cop out £30 when they get restocked and would rather pay £18 today, be quick! If my printers do their job right, new stock Monday, if not Tuesday maximum. Buy one via BigCartel.
Rude Activity Rave - Leeds - 26th May [Event]
There seems to be many 'Grime' raves up and down the UK, but it seems nobody wants to promote them bar handing out flyers in the local town centre or a one off Facebook invite to all their mates. With a huge following worldwide we're happy to promote your club night over here at Once Upon A Grime if it involves Grime music.
One going on in the North of England in Leeds on the 26th of this month is Rude Activity. Vocals on the night will come from Crawler who's notced up over 150k YouTube views, Pakman who flicks between producing and MC'ing, plus Horner who is "one of the strongest MCs on the Grime Pirates Monthly download series". Local young DJ Mossbeats will be on the decks alongside resident DJs John Halifax and Baron Dade. The night is a mixture of Grime, Garage, Rap, House and Dubstep.
Event: Rude Activity
Date: Thursday 26th May
Time: 8pm-2am
Address: The Well (formerly Joseph's Well), Chorley Lane, Leeds, LS3 1AB.

Daily Clothing Deal - Black T-Shirt Now £8 [Clothing]
With Blogger being down all day, it's pretty late in the day to tell you about today's clothing deal of the day. We've had the purple jumper, then the grey t-shirt yesterday, now it's the turn of the popular white on black t-shirt. The price has dropped from £15 to £8. Pick one up from our BigCartel. As seen on Rival and Ed Sheeran just to name a couple of names.
