Originally picking up the mic in 2007, here's Bluey's latest free download, Connect In Time. The young East Londoner has produced literally almost of the tracks on the mixtape as well as vocalling them. Connect In Time contains twenty-one tracks, with the latter two of the mixtape being bonus tracks. Bluetooth has also drawn in the likes of Afro Symphony, Blitzin Barz and Kritikal in for the features. As well as productions by himself, Bluey also has a couple of beats from Infamous making an appearance and Teeza too. Download Connect In Time here, and check the tracklisting after the jump.
Cookie - ADHD Interview [Video]
Alright, I'm a couple days late, but I've been busy. After his freestyle last week with ADHD, Cookie (right) also gave the cameramen a little interview to go alongside this whilst driving his car. The interview touches on what Cooks has done since his last release, he also talks about Scorcher, plus, the whole Black the Ripper (centre) & Chipmunk situation. Cookie also talks about his top three producers in the scene, the Recipe mixtape and a potential track with Doller Da Dustman.
Big H & 9 Milli Major - Bloodline Set 2010 [Audio]
Just a little snippet of a recent set featuring two of the Bloodline crew. Big H and 9 Milli Major recently reached the BBC Asian Network for a little set. Here's a clip of the duo flowing of Rude Kid's Electric beat for your Sunday afternoon.
Pro Green - Just Be Good To Green (T4 BTS) [Video]
For those Professor Green and Lily Allen fans complaining they want more from behind the scenes, why not check this video out? There's no point in me writing a huge essay up about it after I posted a video from Pro's cameraman the other day doing pretty much the same. So check out T4 behind the scenes of Just Be Good To Green, and if you missed the behind the scenes from the other day, check it out here.
Oly Hayes, Dapz & Pressure - Freestyle vs Freestyle [Video]
A little something different from Flush Media here. Flush Media took a trip up to Maccesfield to meet up with football freestyler Oliver Hayes. For those who don't know who Oly Hayes is, he's basically some kid who stupidly amazing at doing tricks and appears up and down the UK doing little shows. Flush brought Oliver and Dapz alongside Pressure to do a little trick freestyle vs music freestyle. For those who aren't great fans of football, skip to 3:16mins for the music freestyle.
JME & Tempa T - MTV Wrap Up Interview [Video]
After being denied filiming in both at the original place then Nandos, finally the duo get a little café to sit down in to get the interview underway. The video is more of a mini-episode of Tempz and JME mucking around more than anything. But eventually, the interview gets underway, but the pair are still far from serious. It's good to see artists cool and relaxed whilst just being normal human beings. More time they're looking down on other people it seems, or they think they're a lot better than they are. JME and Tempa T touch on their new single, Tempz' lack of tweeting and just general nonsence.
Plan B - Prayin' [Extended Video]
Plan B's switch of genres has won him many new admirers. B has moved from his dark and gritty way such as No More Eatin' and Mama to a more up-lifting and inspiring sounds featuring on his new album.
Whipped straight from my inbox is the extended version of Plan B's new single, Prayin'. Many tracks go simply over your head and you only pick up on the chorus. But for this track, take a second out and listen to the lyrics. The storyline behind Prayin' is as creative and witty as Ben Drew himself. With the video to match, the creativity it took to make this piece of music has been emphasised dramatically.
Blaze, Jammin & Jammer - Canceling Your Show [Video]
Not so much Grime, but more of a rap track here, but it's got Jammer on it, so why not? 2010 has been a good year for the Murkleman, and here's another example of a decent track by the Boy Better Know crew member. Alongside both Blaze and Jammin', Jammer features on the track Cancelling Your Show. I'm not a huge fan of rap, but I've found myself listening to it a lot more this year due to the crossovers. As in, Grime artists jumping on rap tunes like this one. Check it out below and let me know what you think...
Rihanna - Rockstar (Rude Kid Remix) [Audio]
To be fair, I can't say I've listened to the original, but this clip of the remix is promising. Rude Kid (right) is sitting more on his Dubstep chair with this one than a Grime one. If I'm not wrong, isn't that the same drums used during the break down of Electric? Hopefully Rudes will leak the full version soon. Until then, enjoy this clip that is just under two minutes long.
Diesle - Another Contendor [Tracklisting]
Finally we've got a date for the release of Another Contendor by Diesle. As well as that, today we've also got the tracklisting too. Thanks to Risky Roadz, as of the 1st June, Another Contendor will be avaliable for free download via their website. The free download has got features from the likes of Wiley, Skepta, Ghetts and many various other big names in Grime. So it looks like it's going to be a worthwhile download. Click the above picture to enlarge it and check out the tracklisting.
Tinchy Stryder - Luke Monaghan Interview [Video]
At 12am last night, the whole Tinchy Stryder fan base went mad. Out of no-where really Tinchy got Gangsta played on 1Xtra on Thursday night, then released the track at 12am on the dot on iTunes. Not to forget, the video also dropped which merged with another new track, Game Over featuring chart topping artist Tinie Tempah. So, that's two sets of screaming teenage girl fans fainting over this release, or did they?
Gangsta nor Game Over are the typical pop tracks, they're hard hitting Hip-Hop releases instead. Game Over with Tinie is actually more towards Grime if anything. After watching the interview, it looks like Tinie isn't the only artist to feature on the track either. It's all looking good. Check the interview below.
Snakeyman - Anointed Productions Interview [Video]
Anointed Productions recently caught up with the more actor than musician Snakeyman just like I did for MTV (here). The interview touches upon similar questions I asked Snakey, but it also picks up on a few questions I missed myself. Therefore, if your a Snakeyman fan, check it out and learn a bit more about the man behind the music...
Wiley - Electric Boogaloo (Roller Express Remix) [Radio Rip]
Okay, I'm slightly late with this one, but it needs to be shown. Toddla T and Red Light have got hold of Electric Boogaloo to put their own little twist on the Electro track. Before it even gets a chance to drop, Mista Jam already wheels it, so you know it's going to be something good. The track of course also features Oldham's very own Jodie Connor and Roll Deep's J2K. It's not Grime, but for those who felt a little let down with the original, here's something more dirtier for your ears. Enjoy.
Professor Green - Alive Till I'm Dead [Tracklisting]
Professor Green leaked this one late last night, and today I've decided to post it. It's a photo of the final tracklisting for Pro's forthcoming album, Alive Till I'm Dead. Of course it's got his smash hit I Need You Tonight (here) on there alongside his new single with Lily Allen, Just Be Good To Green (here). I'm personally happy that Jungle (here) is also going to be on there too. Click the picture above to enlarge it, unless you can read the really small writing already...
Chosen One Set Download Links [Free Download]
For all those who wanted the latest Chosen Ones set on their MP3 players, Logan has gone and got them ripped into MP3 format and split into four seperate sections for your pleasure. So if you missed the chart topping Roll Deep, Boy Better Know, Rival and Marger plus the Roadside Geez, here's your chance to download the set and play to your hearts content. Download links after the jump.
OGz @ Just Jam 005 [Video]
This Wednesday, the South Londoners of OGz made the short trip to East London to perform a little set at Just Jam. This week performing for the Tim & Barry cameras we've got the Dubstep loving duo of P Money and Blacks, Desperado who leans more towards Rap more than anything, plus Little Dee and Jendor. Don't forget JJ on the decks. Lewishams Kozzie and Slaughter also turned up to place their lyrics on the mic as well on another set. To watch the other videos, which are skattered all over the place, click here. I would embed on my page, but for some reason, Blogger doesn't like uStream embedding links. If you want to see a couple of photos from the night, click here.
Nico Lindsay - Observation EP [Free Mixtape]
To keep his fans happy, today Nico Lindsay dropped a little six track EP entitled the Observation. For those who download the Project (here) put together by myself and Team Supreme, you would of heard the first track on the EP, The Start. Nico gives a mix of Grime and Rap with this free download. You've got four studio tracks, and the final two MP3s being his set alongside Trim on the Westwood Crib Sessions. Pick up the download here, and check the tracklisting after the jump.
Tinchy Stryder - Gangsta / Game Over Feat. Tinie Tempah [Video]
When checking my emails this morning, I recieved an emailed from Tinchy's website entitled 'Gangsta?'. To be fair, I didn't think much of it. Later in the day via Facebook I found out it was a new track by the Star In The Hood, and here it is. Freshly ripped off 1Xtra for your ears. It's got the electric guitar, a dirty bass, and Tinchy goes in with the bars. Far from his pop music. It's more of a track Fuda Guy would have used than anything I though. Download here.
Edit: Hold up, Tinch goes in with the video. First Gangsta, then a track with Tinie? Buy off iTunes by clicking here.
Edit: Hold up, Tinch goes in with the video. First Gangsta, then a track with Tinie? Buy off iTunes by clicking here.
Pres' Sounds Feat. Wiley, JLD & Janee - Lickin Down The Spot [Audio]
Before you say anything, it features Wiley who is the Godfather of Grime, and Bless Beats who hailed from the genre we all know and love. So here it is, Wiley's and Bless Beats' latest production. It seems now Wiley have left Grime, he's more for the rave / club money. All Will has been making lately is electro tune, after electro tune, after electro tune, and here's another...
Blacks - This Way [Radio Rip]
Thankfully somebody ripped this from Logan's show on Monday night / Tuesday morning. Props to Hyperfrank for this one. Grime artists spittin' over Dubstep is becoming a regular trend now. Black has already done it with the track Fall Back on Sick Individual in 2009, and P Money has been on daytime radio with Slang Like This produced by Suhk Knight.
The latest Dubstep and Grime combo being This Way by Blacks. It's a Nero produced beat that came out during 2009, but never-the-less, the OGz crew member has made it sound brand new. It's one of those track you'd expect Logan to wheel up, but for some reason, he didn't. Despite that, whenever Blacks performes this in a club, I'm sure it will. Check the audio below.
Pro Green Feat. Lily Allen - Just Be Good To Green (BTS) [Video]
For those who are thinking they recognise the name Luke Monaghan, yes, it is the same Luke Monaghan who shot the Tinchy Stryder tour videos. This time around though, Luke is behind the camera for the behind the scenes at Pro Green's and Lily Allen's latest video, Just Be Good To Green. This time around, the video is far from Upper Clapton Dance. That video was full of Pro and his goonies around the streets of Hackney. This time, Green has the pleasure of many women and being the only man in the video.
Cookie - Grime Wave Freestyle [Video]
With brand new bars for the camera, Cookie (right) catches up with the guys over at Grime Daily for a quick freestyle. Black the Ripper (left) is sitting in the wing, but sadly, there's no bars coming from the North Londoner.
DJ Zinc Feat. JME - Let's Go [Radio Rip]
Taken from yesterdays MistaJam show, today we have JME's latest feature. This time around the Boy Better Know CEO has made a track with DJ Zinc entitled Let's Go. For those who don't know, this track is taken from the Crack House EP Volume 2. It's not Grimy, but it's not a bad track actually. Most tracks nowadays are made for the clubs, and here's another one. So from that, you can guess what sort of style the track is going to be. Don't worry, it's not your watered down Funky rubbish, Let's Go is a respectable track. For those who want it on their iTunes, download the radio rip here.
Jammer - Jahmanji [Tracklisting & Release Date]
2010 has been a very good year to Jammer so far, and it looks to get better. The Murkleman has been hitting raves up and down the UK on the regular, he's also shot the odd video, plus, Jammer also signed to Big Dada this year. With that signing, this is where Jahmanji falls into place. Jahmanji is Jammer's forthcoming album set to be released on the 5th July. Of course you've got the likes of Boy Better Know on there, but did you expect a feature from the Newham Generals? The productions come from the likes of Toddla T, Ruff Sqwad's Rapid and Red Light. It's looking to be a promising album. Check the tracklisting after the jump.
4.3.2.1 Premiere [Video]
The other night saw the premiere of Noel Clarke's new film, 4.3.2.1. This time around, it's something a little different from Kidulthood and Adulthood which are two films and one style that are assosiated with the actor / director. A few of the cast and a couple of guests stop by for a quick interview. You've got Noel himself, Bashy who featured in the film, Adam Deacon, and even Wiley. But what suprises me is who Wiley wants to work with. Check it out, and it's safe to say, Wiley isn't Grime anymore...
MTV Wrap Up Meets Snakeyman [Interview]
Finally my interview with Snakeyman is now up on MTV Wrap Up. So for all those who are interested in why he's called Snakeyman, about him clashing Tinchy Stryder, and what he has lined up acting and music wise, check it out here.
Scrufizzer - It's Over [Free Mixtape]
Turns out Scrufizzer who was once known as Scruface was about to turn his back on Grime and call it a day. But, after talks with Universal, thankfully Scru to the fizz isn't going to do so, but only take a short break. Scrufizzer breaks such a unique up beat and fast paced flow to the game, and it would of been a shame to see him leave. After all, he's what, 18? If that. The young MC felt he's been going around in circles recently, and to keep his fans happy, here's some old tracks from 2009 going into 2010. Thanks Scru, download here. If track eleven is corrupted, download it here.
Plan B - Prayin' (Teaser) [Video]
I was lucky enough to see Plan B last Wednesday, and if you've read my review over at Dropout UK (here), you would have seen that I mentioned Prayin' would be Ben Drew's forthcoming single. Here's just a few little clips of the video. Looks good...
World Cup Clothing By Money Clothing [Clothes]
Not really Grime related, but throughout 2009 and into 2010 Money has treated several members of the Grime scene and the music scene very well by kitting them out in the latest designs.
With the world cup starting very soon, Money has decided to back the boys with their very own England designed clothing. Plus, as it's summer, who wants hoodies? We've got two polo shirts and a t-shirt lined up for you here. Also, don't forget the shorts to match.
Once Upon A Grime Presents Skillz Beats - F.O.T.M [Artwork]
After everyone jumped on the Pass Out beat plus the Woo Riddim, myself and Skillz Beats are putting together this just a little project to be released in the summer. Here's the artwork for it. For those who want the beat, download it here. Hopefully we can take it back to the roots of Grime when everyone jumped on one beat. Take Street Fighter and Ice Rink as examples...
Gorillaz Feat. Tinie Tempah - Clint Eastwood (Live) [Video]
Bar the stand for the microphone falling over at the start of Clint Eastwood, it was a pretty flawless performance by the virtual band and the number one selling artist, Tinie Tempah. The video is taken from last Friday's show on the BBC, Friday Night with Johnathan Ross. Wossy does get some of the best artists on his show, and last week the South Londoner Tinie made an appearance. Remixing a classic song is an either instant hit, or the opposite, an instant fail resulting in many fans cringing, this attempt, a sucess. Tinie delivers some brillient lyrics and it's clear to see why he's so highly rated in 2010. Skip to 3:47mins to see Tinie and the Gorillaz.
Also, for those who missed his performance at Radio 1's Big Weekend, click here.
Bless Beats Feat. Remi Nicole, Wiley & Plug One - Let It Go [Video]
Okay, Wiley (centre) did only have a small feature in the track, but it would have been nice of him to be in the video. Just as we thought Wiley has changed his old ways of not showing up, it looks like he hasn't.
Freshly uploaded to YouTube, here is the video for Let It Go. If you lock into 1Xtra's MistaJam's show on the regular, you would have heard this potential hit way back in Febuary. And if you check the blog on the regular, you would have seen the behind the scenes at the start of May (here). So here it is, the feel good, uplifting and Bless Beat (left) production named Let It Go featuring Remi Nicol and Plug One of De La Soul.
TS & OUaG Present...The Project [Free Mixtape Download]
A couple hours later than we expected due to slow internet connections, the Project mixtape is finally here. Over at Once Upon A Grime and a also an equal contribution by Team Supreme, we've got exclusive tracks, unreleased tracks, and even a few unheard ones too. These include your favourite artists such as Trim, Black the Ripper, Slix, Manga and Lowkey. We've got mainly Grime with the odd bit of Rap and UK Hip-Hop thrown into the equation too. When we say exclusives, we mean especially made for this huge free download. So don't hesitate to click here for the download link, and check after the jump for the final tracklisting. Enjoy, leave comments, and let us know if you'd like to see volume two...
Doller Da Dustman - Pink Notes Freestyle [Video]
That Edmonton boy is back again with another freestyle. Yet again, it's over a Z-Dot (left) production. Doller's latest freestyle is over Z-Dot's Pink Notes instrumental that'll feature on the Fire Power EP. This year we're going to see Doller (right) move up the ladder towards the top of Grime with his high workrate he's had since the turn of the year. We're nearly six months it, and Da Dustman hasn't slowed down yet.
Kano Feat. Aidonia & Wiley - Get Wild [Video]
It only premiered the other day, but we've already got a video. It's not your bright lights and half naked girls video though, it's similar to the Julia video by Kano made last year (here). The video is Kano's trip from London back to his roots in Jamaica. Whilst out there, he recorded Get Wild with Aidonia.Get Wild is Kano's first release from his forthcoming LP entitled Method To The Maadness. Some are say 'it's a summer smash' already. For me, I'm not really a big fan. Check it regardless and make your own decision. Pick it up from Kano's website here.
Nico Lindsay - Observation EP [Artwork]
For all those Nico Lindsay fans out there, I've got two little presents for you tonight. The first one being the artwork from the Observation EP which is out on the 28th May. For me, this is one of the best covers I've seen in a while. The other, a free download from this EP. Wait till 9pm and you can pick it up exclusively via the Project mixtape. I'll update this post when it's ready..
Shorty - BBK [Video]
Thankfully, it's a little something different with the video. In fact, I quite like it. Shorty today released an exclusive web video via Channel AKA for the second track off his free download - Short Man Syndrome. It's the second track off the mixtape the Boy Better Know member has chosen, and it's named after the crew he's apart of too, BBK. Pick the free download up here, and check the video here.
Aks Feat. Maxsta & Hydro - Must Hate Money [Audio]
Your probably thinking that you've heard of Maxsta (above centre) and Hydro (above left), but who's Aks? It's Axeman. Must Hate Money is more towards a Hip-Hop tip than a Grime one. Overall, it's not a bad track. There's no doubt all three have got talent. Plus, as they're still young, they're still finding their feet on what they flow best on. Therefore, before you complain if you don't like, be sure the trio will be back on a Grimy beat soon enough...
M.I.K - Grime To Five (Sampler) [Audio]
One week from now the Grime scene will witness an release that will turn a few heads, M.I.K's Grime to Five mixtape. The hype has been building up for a while now with preview tracks, a few war dubs, plus clashing Rival at Mic Fight. Let's hope the Family Tree member can deliver. By the sounds of the sampler, it looks like he will. Check out the sampler over at Amazon - click here.
Terminator - Make Sure Your P's Strong [Hood Video]
(Signing two year deal at QPR FC in 2006)
Okay, I'm a couple days late with this one, but I've been doing other things, like working. Shot by Grime Daily, Terminator returns with his dark style and slow paced style for the track Make Sure Your P's Strong. Terminator has finally taken time out of football and delivered a new track for his fans. Anyone know if he's got anything else lined up?
Plan B @ Radio 1s Big Weekend - She Said (Live) [Video]
I was lucky enough to see Plan B live last week at Sound in Leicester Square thanks to Dropout UK, and let's just say, he's as every bit as good live as you hear on your radio, download or CD. On Saturday, Plan B was supported by the same group and delivered a performance as good as ever with his hit She Said.
Diesle - Starlight Freestyle [Video]
To start it off, Diesle is releasing a twenty-four track strong mixtape on the 1st June via Risky Roadz, it's called Another Contender. Diesle drops us big freestyle in front of the Risky Roadz camera, and I'm one for sure to download his mixtape if the levels are this high. Let's hope Diesle is consistant and can deliver a decent free download. So far, it looks like he will...
Skepta, Jammer & Fem Fel - Live In Southend [Video]
As well as Fem Fel, two of Grimes legends showed up to a club in Southend the other night and tore it down. Skepta and Jammer brought they classic bars and even covered someone elses track. Skepta gave the crowd his own version of Giggs - Look What The Cat Dragged in before ending it with Forever Young by Jay-Z & Mr Hudson, but with his own bars. In between those two points though, B O Double S off the album Microphone Champion was perfromed, and so was another track from that CD, Are You Ready? produced by Rude Kid.
Rival - Woo Riddim [Video]
Yes, the beat has been rinsed, and I refused to post anymore specific Woo Riddim tracks, but Rival's version is funny as well as really good. After a little beef with Family Tree's M.I.K, Rival has turned his attention to the guys over at Nu Brand (formally Flexx). As usual, the Grime hype kicks off on Twitter, and tweets flying back and forth between the two camps has resulted in Rival writting a few bars for the Runway group. Rival also introduces a few of his MC friends after the video as they show us their bars via freestyling. For those who want to add it to their iPods, download it here.
R.I.O Supporting Lloyd In Manchester (Live) [Video]
If you read my interview with R.I.O from a couple weeks back (here), you'd of seen the Manchester artist doesn't just sit on Grime. Whilst supporting Lloyds recent performance in his hometown, R.I.O stepped on stage and gave the crowd in the North of England a full hearted performance. R.I.O performed his recent single entitled Narrow Roads, that was followed by some quick Pon De Floor bars with dancers. One of Manny's finest finished it off by showcasing his new track - Mr Unpredictable.
Cookie - ADHD Freestyle [Video]
Since the video of L.O.V.E, Cookie has been slightly quite. Don't worry though, he hasn't been time wasting. Here's his new freestyle for ADHD with brand new bars. Glad to see he hasn't been slacking. Check it out.
Jabz, Nsane & Quiksilva - Anti Social [Free Mixtape]
If your wondering, yes this is the same Jabz who hosted the Best of Redbridge mixtape. He's back again this time, but not hosting. This time around, Jabz has Nsane and Quiksilva alongside him for the mixtape entitled Anti Social. The mixtape includes Quicsilva's Woo Riddim like most artists, as well as a mixture of Rap and Hip-Hop. Pick it up by clicking here.
Dizzee Rascal @ Radio 1 Big Weekend (Interview) [Video]
As well as performing a ten track strong performance which included the classic Fix Up Look Sharp track alongside Jus' A Rascal, Dizzee also performed his new single Dirtee Disco. Raskit also caught up with the BBC's Edith Bowman and Reggie Yates for a quick interview. To see more videos from the day, check the BBC website by clicking here.
Wiley Feat. Jodie Connor & J2K - Electric Boogaloo [Video]
Even by the name of the track, you can tell it isn't Grime, or even near it. Regardless, here's the new video by Wiley alongside Good Times singer Jodie Connor and Roll Deep'er J2K. Wiley has brought through so much talent in Grime, and it looks like he may be pushing Oldham's Jodie Connor into the limelight too. Electric Boogaloo is another track for the clubs. For me, it's lacking bass, but maybe that's just my laptop speakers.
When Tinie Tempah Met Kelly Rowland [Video]
The former Destiny's Child member has been in the capital recently, and she's been here, there and everywhere. Kelly has also done an interview with SB.TV recently which will be up soon. Whilst in London, Miss Rowland passed through the Ace & Vis show in the morning. Even at just after 9am, Tinie had his game on point, and it looks like Kelly was impressed. Tinie Tempah featuring Kelly Rowland soon? Let's see...
