Pit from Slew Dem returned with a freestyle that dropped on Tim & Barry TV on Christmas Day. The other day, I brought to you the Slew Dem crew freestyling in a Warehouse, this time it's Pit on his own. It seems as the year draws to an end, lots of MCs are coming out of the woodwork and making a return just in time for 2010. Whether they will stay around in 2010 is another storey.
Once Upon a Grime meets InfaRed (Interview)
I recently had a chat with Nu Brand Flexxx member, InfaRed. We discussed the future for Nu Brand Flexxx, his own career and clothing range.
Name: InfaRed
Age: 21
Location: North West London
Crew: Nu Brand Flexxx
Occupation: Artist / Fashion Designer
OUaG: Grime has blown up this year with commercial success, and Nu Brand Flexxx have taken a break for a minute, care to explain to the new age fans who you are?
InfaRed: I’m 1/6th of the Nu Brand Flexx crew. You may know me from our match hit song and video, ‘Anthem’. I was the one that coughed on my verse. So that’s the first thing people remember me from. I’m also the IMsoSICK CEO, I wear it every day.
OUaG: Nu Brand Flexxx have just released ‘Emergency’ the other day (28th December). How do you think this will go with Chipmunk & Wiley also releasing on the same day?
InfaRed: Well our fans keep growing and growing. I think ‘Emergency’ will do quite well. But as Chipmunk and Wiley have the FULL backing, then it’s not really much of a contest. ‘Emergency’ has done really well. It gets played a lot. The YouTube hits are good and it’s been blogged by big bloggers such as Chantell Fiddy, Sian Anderson & Tinie Tempah. The list goes on...
OUaG: Can we expect a comeback mixtape soon with the release of ‘Emergency’ just hitting our iTunes store?
InfaRed: Yeah, the new mixtape should be dropping mid-January early Febuary. The name hasn’t been decided yet, but you'll be the 1st to know when its decided.
OUaG: Will it be a promo given away for free to announce the return of Nu Brand Flexxx? Or are we going to have to pay?
InfaRed: The truth is that for the past 2 months we’ve been working on 3 projects. Our mixtape, our free mixtape and our album. People haven’t really seen us ‘cos we’ve been in the studio every day. I’m not sure on the dates, but when these things drop it’s going to be a madness. The future is really bright for us, plus, we’ve got a brand new video.
OUaG: 'Excuse my Cough' finally got onto Channel AKA the other week. The video has been on YouTube since May though. Why did it take so long to get onto our television screens?
InfaRed: Our management just thought it wasn’t the right time to bring it out at the time. They wanted the video to follow up after a Nu Brand Fexxx project, that happened to be Emergency. About 3 weeks later, ‘Excuse my Cough’ was released.
OUaG: Can we expect more individual tracks from the members of Nu Brand Flexxx? ‘Excuse my Cough’ being your example, and Boya Ds new track appeared on YouTube the other week.
InfaRed: We are a group, but we aren’t a boy band. So, we aren’t always going to be on the same tune. We all have individual qualities, so there will diffiently be some solo projects coming out the Nu Brand Flexxx camp in the near future!
OUaG: ‘Top of My Class’ was over a Joker beat. What do you think of Grime MCs jumping on Dubstep beats in ’09? Does it work well?
InfaRed: I think it works well if you can do it properly. Our music is very diverse and experimental so I.E it was only right that we laced a Joker beat . I think in 010 Nu Brand Flexxx are going to surprise a lot of people with the sounds we will be coming out with. Watch this space!
OUaG: Can we see Nu Brand Flexxx or yourself personally on any Dubstep beats in the future then?
InfaRed: Yeah, we’re defiantly going to be jumping on Dubstep beats in the new year. We want to cover all areas .We want everyone to hear the Nu Brand Flexxx sound.
OUaG: You’re not only a music man though are you? How did you come across the idea of ‘I’m So Sick’ clothing?
InfaRed: As you know I'm the owner and CEO of IMsoSICK wear. It started off as promo material for my single 'Excuse My Cough / IMsoSICK'. As I began to wear them on road and at our performances, I just got a huge response. So I thought why not? Since then I've not turned back.
OUaG: What can we expect from Nu Brand Flexxx, yourself and the clothing in 2010?
InfaRed: Just expect new music and material. Watch out for our new mixtape and album dropping plus new videos. Expect new IMsoSICK clothing coming out. Just new everything.
OUaG: Any last words before we end the interview?
InfaRed: Just want to thank God, ‘cos without him none of this will be possible. All our fans ‘cos it’s them that keeps us going and going. The Nu Brand team. LikleP, SasKilla, Boya, Brags, Darq E Freaker, DJ Sketchy and DJ Skills. Our management. The whole IMsoSICK team and just everyone that loves our music.

Devlin & DeeperMan - Acoustic Freestyle
O.T Crew member DeeperMan is back alongside Devlin for an acoustic freestyle with Adam Jordan on the guitar. Acoustic tracks can sometimes sound better than the original, especially if they are cover versions. Appearing a couple days ago on Lewi Whites YouTube account was these two videos shot by BDB TV. The audio is a little quite and the guitar over powers the spitters as well. If more time was taken, it could of resulted in a lot better quality. As usual though, Devlin kills it with his new bars, and DeeperMan has improved a lot since we've last heard from him. Rumor has it his mixtape should be out at the start of 2010.

Master Shortie - Mash Tape (Presented by Mista Jam)
MasterJam mixed down this free 'mash tape' for Master Shortie, and it's now been given away as a free download. The download contains remixes of Master Shorties tracks, alongside mash-ups that include Klaxons, Justice, U2 & Stevie Wonder. I thought I'd throw something up that is from the UK Urban scene, but isn't Grime. I do from time to time. As I've said many times, you can't always listen to just Grime...Click the picture to get the download.
Trim - Dat 1 (Wiley War Dub Reply)
Why Wiley sent for Trim I have no idea. We all know Trim can kill any MC in a war dub. These tracks flying back and forth are going to be interesting. Bloodline & Trim vs Wiley & Roll Deep. Bring on 2010.
S. Chu Feat. The Mitchell Brothers - Big Boy Drinks (Free Download)
One of my favourite duos are back for 2010, The Mitchell Brothers. 'A Breath Of Fresh Attire
' has to be one of my all time favourite mixtapes. 'Dressed For The Occasion
' was something different, but not as good as their second mixtape in my eyes. The first mixtape being called 'Sorted' (download here). The previous two tunes by The Mitchell Bros have also been different compared to their older tracks. 'Girlfriend' and 'Northern Girls Bounce' have seen these two cousins, not actual brothers, move away from their Garage ways into a new sound. The same applies for their newest track alongside S. Chu. 'Big Boy Drinks' got it's play on DJ Target's show the other night, and was ripped to pleasure your ears. Click the above picture to download the new track by these two cousins aka, The Mitchell Brothers.
Black the Ripper - The Edmonton Dream (Release)
Black the Ripper makes a return to the music release scene with 'The Edmonton Dream'. This came out on the 28th of this month, but I've wrote about other things instead. For £6 you can get 60 tracks! Yes, 60. That wasn't a typo. That works out at 10p a track if you buy the whole thing, or 69p a track individually. Do the sensible thing here. The Edmonton Dream contains new tracks and the old stuff for the new Grime listeners. I may have to add this one to my iTunes myself actually. Download here
from Amazon US or here for Amazon UK.
Griminal in Response to Rumours/Gossip About Him
Griminal went on a little rant on GrimeForum yesterday, addressing all the issues and rumors about him. He talked about why he's making tracks that aren't Grime, and why he's never made a mixtape. There's not much I can write about this, as Grim says it all. Read about it here.
Wiley - Now Hear Dis (War Dub)
No, the Roll Deep vs Bloodline 'beef' isn't over. We all thought the Wiley phonecall to Big H had ended it all, didn't we? Clearly not. Wiley goes and breaks the silence and sends and indirects more people than just the Bloodline frontman Big H. Several names pop-up during this war dub. It sounds like Wiley is mentioning Trim, P Money, Chronik and of course, Big H. Indirects are flying everywhere. I could be wrong, listen carefully and judge for yourself.
Music Weekly: Noughties Review
"The end of any given year sees more than its fair share of Best Of lists, so no doubt you're all extra sick of them now we've reached the end of the decade. This is why Music Weekly's Noughties show is a bit different. We looked at some of the decade's biggest success stories, most interesting performers and newest sub-genres, and decided we wanted to hear about them from the people behind the music.
We also talk to Grime originator Wiley about the state of the genre now and the success of Dizzee Rascal, Tinchy Stryder and more. Dubstep producer Benga is on hand to describe how he fell in love with that "darker" sound and why kicking around Croydon with nothing to do was crucial to Dubstep's evolution".
From 37 minutes onwards, you'll hear about Grime, then Dubstep. I wasn't honestly impressed with it. It's typical upperclass white snobs reporting on nothing they truly know nothing about. Wiley didn't help, and getting Dubstep into homes? Never going to happen unless it's like the Skreamix of La Roux track. Who I doubt she'll work with anyone from a black music scene again after her slating off of one or two artists from within Grime. By the way, don't take the white comment as racism, I'm white myself. Leave comments if you want voicing your own opinion. Click the logo to take yourself to the audio.
Stutta Feat. Ghetts & Rapid - I'm Leaving (Photos)
It seems the other day, these three MCs / producers in Rapid's case, met up to shoot the video for the new track entitiled 'I'm Leaving'. All of these photo's were taken by the photographer, Fergus McDonald. He's placed a few of these up on his blog, click the above picture of Ghetts if you want to see more.
So Solid Crew & Delight FM are back!
We all know So Solid Crew are making a return in 2010, but so is Delight FM. The radio station use to feature South London MCs such as So Solid Crew & Living Legends on the freequency of 103.0. The underground Garage radio was obviously most popular in it's own area of South London, but spread throughout the capital and beyond. Street Starz filmed the video below of the announcement alongside So Solid performing a live PA of 'Oh No (That's the Word)'.
Logan Sama Feat. Ghetts, Sharky Major & Dollar Da Dustman (28/12/09)
It's that time of week again. The morning after the night before. After everyone has recovered frm the late night of staying up till 1am and trecking off to work or school the next morning for 9am. Luckily, there's no school or college for me until January 5th. The show returned on Kiss 100 this week with Ghetts, Sharky Major and Dollar Da Dustman being the featured guests on the ever popular Logan Sama show. Let's just say, Ghetts new mixtape is going to be his best yet with bars like these...
Skepta - Bad Boy (Live + Free Download)
Skepta announced the tracklisting and album artwork the other day for his forthcoming mixtape, 'Been There Done That' (which you can read about and pre-order here). One of those track was called 'Bad Boy' which he performed live for Ras Kwame on Radio One a few days later. It's a more commercial track to sell mainstream. I don't mind it in all honesty, it's another hit to add to his chalkboard. Watch Skepta perform the track below, and if you really like it, click the picture above to download it.
DaVinche in Franklin & Marshall
Just a quick one here about the UK Producer DaVinche wearing Franklin & Marshall at a photo shoot. Franklin & Marshall over the past year have shot up amazingly quick! From being just another up and coming brand, to being seen all over the place. Most noticeably being the hoodies. But in this instance, we have DaVinche browsing through his iPhone wearing a knitted jumper instead.
If your interest in buying some Franklin & Marshall, head over to their website. Alternatively, check ASOS or Chemical Records for F&M as well. Check out DaVinche's latest track by clicking here.
Royal T - 1Up or Shatap (Digital Release + Free Downloads)
Yesterday saw the release of Royal T's EP. The EP being entitled 1UP or Shatap. The vinyl edition was released at the start of the month, but as we know, not all of us spin vinyls in our rooms. So, for whose who listen to MP3s rather than big black spinning discs, here is the MP3 release. 9 tracks for £2.95 on Play.com. Not bad value eh? Buy here. If you don't want to purchase the tracks without knowing who Royal T is, download these 3 tracks that he gave away everyday up until the MP3 release. They include the OGz - Hot Ones remix, his Boxing Day remix alongside P Money preforming 1UP live at I Luv Live (which I did a article about here). Check the preview video below of some of the featured tracks & click here for the three free tracks.
Slix & Postman - Get Money (Blast From the Past)
I wondered what ever happend to Slix since releasing 'Down Vol. 2'. It had to be one of my favourite mixtapes of 2008. So when I saw Grime Daily uploaded a 'new video' and had Slix in the title, I got a bit happy that the Ruff Sqwad member had made a return, sadly not. Recently, Grime Daily has been uploading old videos that they didn't upload for one reason or another. In the title in brackets it always has 'blast from the past' to remind the views, this isn't new, it's an old video. My little Grime heart sunk when I saw this. Either way, it's a good track by Slix accomplied by Postman. Shot around East London at night in one of the estates. I do hope Slix makes a return soon. We all know what Tinchy is doing, Rapid has come back with his own single and even Dirty Danger dropped a new track on radio the other week. Video below.
Mz Bratt - About To Blow
So by now, you should know about the whole 'About to Blow' situation. Devlin is an example. A few weeks back, RWD Magazine did a feature about the young Dagenham MC. This time though, it's the turn of Mz Bratt. She's been around for a while in the underground scene, and has the talent to break mainstream if she tries. RWD think so to. Watch the video below and find out about the lady yourself if you don't know her already...
Sincere - Same Old (Trailer)
For the second time in a short space of time, we have another little article about the man they call Sincere. This time, a trailor/preview of the forthcoming video, 'Same Old'. This is one of the tracks to come off his forthcoming mixtape, Written In Stars. W.I.S is to drop on January 11th. Look out for this one. We all know it's not Grime, more UK Hip-Hop, but he's still one to watch in 2010.
Tinchy Stryder & Chipmunk - Little Big World
A few weeks ago during the 'Tinchy Stryder Weekly Diary - Week Two', Tinchy meantioned making his own mini-level for the game 'Little Big World'. I don't know what happended to this 'weekly diary', as the last update was on the 7th of December. Anyway, I thought I'd take a breather from constantly doing videos-track-download-videos-track-etc. etc. Here's something to mix it up. Oh yeah, Chipmunk got his done too. But after slagging off Dot Rotten and Wiley yesterday on Twitter, not someone really special anymore to promote. Click here if you care about him.
Wiley - Igloo (Santino Remix)
The original of this classic instrumenal came out in 2003 I believe. 6 years later (well 7 when it's released), we have a remix by Santino. The remix of the Wiley instrumental will be given away on January 1st 2010 (hence, 7 years when it's released). Too many classic tracks are remixed and sound awful. This one isn't to bad to be fair. Of course it's always hard to beat the original, but it can be done. Look at Skreams remix of the La Roux track for example. That may be due to because it was a new track that the public took to it better than some remixes. But when remixing a classic tune, the standards are always high. This remix is a decent attempt at reaching those heights. Come back at the start of January for the free download in 320kbps if you want it...
Edit: Also, here is a mix of some of Santino's tracks by Selecta Fewie.
Doller Da Dustman - Me & Z (Prod. Z-Dot) [Free Download]
You'll recognise Doller Da Dustman from his feature on the track 'Skadoosh'. If your not new to Grime, you'll know about this MC. He's released a combination of promos and mixtapes, resulting in a total of 5 all together. Here is on more track to add to your collection. The tracking being produced by Z-Dot. Doller skips over the beat with his quick flow on this one. So if your looking for a more fast paced MC, someone the complete opposite to Giggs, Doller Da Dustman is one of those guys. Click the picture to download the free daily download.
Griminal - Can't Be (Official Silencer Remix)
By looking at the title, you may think Griminal is back on Grime after his recent departure to make 'Invincible'. Quite the opposite. Silencer is back. Not that he was away from the scene like Grim either. The tracks from 'Run the CD' got vocalled and spat over week in, week out. He also recently got voted the 'Producer of the Year' by the Grime Forum members. Teddy is back with his latest remix, Can't Be, vocalled by Griminal, originally made by Terror Danjah. The track proves why he was voted producer of the year, even if he only remixed it...
The Grime Daily Show
GrimeDaily this year has shot well over 400 videos already, and how many days in the year are there? We've even still got a week or so left of 2009 as well...But come 2010, comes the Grime Daily show on Flava (Sky 367). From January the 11th, every week day at 6pm, you can catch all the latest Urban news. You may think 'how is this possible, surley they will run out of ideas/news?'. 400 videos...they won't. Check the promo video below with Donatella.
Rapid Performing @ Sunday Show + New Era Cap
Rapid performed his lasted track 'Go Rapid' produced and vocalled by himself last weekend at 'the Sunday Show'. As he says at the start of the video, he's 'buzzing', that maybe why his performance was a bit lifeless. He seems like he didn't put any effort into it at all. Watch the video below and judge yourself.
As the article is a bit short, I thought I'd add onto the end about Rapid's New Era cap. You can see it in the picture above with Smurfie Syco, but that picture isn't from last Sunday though. I had this lined up as a article when I was use to write for another blog, but never got around to doing so. Rapid was filmed wearing the video during his performance on Sunday. It's a green and yellow New Era with the Oakland Athletics 'A's' sign on the front. I'm not amazing with New Era's, but I knew about this one. Pick it up for the standard price of £24.99 from the New Era website.
Royal T - Boxing Day Mix (Free Download)
Royal T has been building up to the release of his EP, 1UP or Shatap. The digital download that is, we all know the vinyl has been out for a couple of weeks now. For three days to the build up, Royal T has been giving away downloads. Christmas day was the 320kbps of the OGz - Hot Ones track. His remix of course. As everyone was downloading OGeezus, there wasn't a point in putting it up. So, to make up for lost downloads, here is his Boxing Day Mix. Just short of 10mins of mixing for free. The tracklisting is below, as well as the YouTube video if you want to listen to the mix before downloading. Remember, click the picture for the link.
Skepta Feat. Fem Fel & Julie - B O Double S (Video)
Taken off his new mixtape, 'Been There Done That' featuring Fem Fel & Julie (Adenuga maybe?), Skepta shot a video for the 8th track of 16. The video obviously made as a warm up the highly anticipated forthcoming mixtape. Some fans felt a bit dissapointed by the tracks that featured on 'Microphone Champion'. B.T.D.T features such classics that were not avaliable to the public previously. Such as the Red Bull Academy instrumental. The B O Double S (Boss) video was shot in what looks like a make-do office and backstreets of possibly North London. As the snow settled, it seems everyone decides to shoot videos outside. Black the Ripper being an example of this as well as Skepta. Check the tracklisting here at UkRecordShop, and if your interested, why not pre-order?
Terror Danjah Feat. Guests - Spotlight Remix
I simply couldn't fit the amount of names in the title, so I didn't even bother trying. The remix featuring, get ready, Ghetts, Chipmunk, Griminal, Black The Ripper, Double S, Smurfie Syco, Dream Mclean & Bruza. 8 MCs on one track. Even Chipmunk has made a return to his roots. Ghetts as usual leading the way forward. There has even been a mention of a Hardrive Remix EP. Something to look forward to if the rumors are trure!
Dot Rotten - Woah Ouh Woah (Free Download) [War Dub]
Dot dropped this huge war dub on Christmas for his fans as a little gift. I cannot count on one hand how many people he's sent for. All I know is Fumin is one of the guys. So many people have been chatting about Dot Rotten throughout the year, and he's had enough. Finally, a war dub to shut them all up. Two CDs in two months? Anyone else done this? If you haven't, shut up and listen to Dot ruin probably your career if you've been chatting about him between January till December. Click the picture to download the free daily download aka the MASSIVE war dubbbbbbbbb!
Devlin - Duffers Photoshoot
It's always nice to get a bit of free clothing here and there (not that I know other than birthdays & Christmas), but getting paid to stand around all day, take a few photos, get paid and take a few bits home can't be THAT bad can it? That's what the young Grime boy Devlin done the other day for Duffers. You may recognise the brand from it's recent introduction into the ever popular JD Sports shop. I'm sure a few of our reader will be there during the sales that are now on. So if your looking for something a bit different from the crowd, check out Duffers St. George at JD or Debenhams.
Wiley - She Likes To (The England 10) Remix of the Remix
To finish Boxing Day off, we have the remix of the England 10 Remix. Yes, someone remixed the remix [no Dot Rotten]. I think it's quite good actually. I don't post anything that I don't personally like. It's not like someone has remixed the remix, and just thrown it on top of the video as well. They've incorporated the video to go with the track. Yes, the remixed the remix as well as remixing the remix. A lot of remixing no? More of a dance track. Expect several teenage girls to rip this at 256kbps off a YouTube downloader and play it at your New Years Party (if your under 18 that is). Enjoy.
Frisco - Freestyle (Hood Video)
Frisco is more commonly known for his part within the Boy Better Know crew. So, this BBK member dropped a 'freestyle' for the Grime Daily camera to make a Christmas hood video. The video isn't half bad, nor is the so called 'freestyle'. Have a look, and make your own decision...
Young Kye Freestyle + Manga talking about Bloodline 'Beef'
To be fair, I haven't heard much from Young Kye. Earlier in the month, RWD Magazine caught up with him for a quick interview. So if you want to know more info. click here. The freestyle I thought was quite good. Being a fan of Dubstep myself (kind of drifted away since the summer though), I enjoyed it. He spits with a quick flow with catchy lyrics. It definitely impressed me, and I can't wait to hear more from him.
Pigeon Face caught up with Manga after a performance in Colchester. Which, for the records Mangs, is in Essex. I said the other day that Skepta was cooling the Bloodline vs Roll Deep 'beef' down, and it looks to be dead in the water. Manga doesn't want none of it, Skepta is saying leave it, plus, Wiley rang Big H and took some of his words back. It was entertaining while it latest. But whoever this randomer is that's hyping, have fun with that. Big on the camera, big on Grime Forum too probably, but we all know what he'll be like if he ever saw Paper Pabz...
JME and Logan Sama - Street Fighter 4
The two biggest Xbox nerds (no send) within Grime, JME & Logan went down to Harrow the other day for the Street Fighter 4 convention. Well, not so much a convention. It turned out to be a load of nerds crammed into a room, with their own personal controllers to play the best of the best. Logan wasn't to best pleased after getting beaten a few times, JME wouldn't admit defeat though. Watch the video and catch the mishaps along the way, and JME with his Xbox mates.
WereWolf - iBelieve (Hood Video)
The first track off his latest promo (iBelieve) has just had a hood video shot for it. iBelieve is the title of the first track of the promo as well as the promo it's self. This West London MC is going to hit the scene big time in 2010. I personally think his best track off the promo is 'Wake Up'. That would tear up Logan on a Monday, and if a video was shot to it, it would be a big hit for Wolf aka Werewolf. Download the promo by clicking the picture to get a link, and watch the video below.
OGz - OGeezus! (Free Download)
It was promised to come at 12 o'clock on the dot, but it never did. I was up till 3am and still nothing. Finally, when I switched my laptop on this morning, it was here. About 11 hours later...Click the picture and enjoy what is probably the best free download of the year thanks to OGz.
Slew Dem live at the Warehouse / in TUKC T-Shirt
A few of the Slew Dem guys are back, and here is their most recent performance at a Warehouse. The video includes their performance for Sweet & Sound as well as an interview. The video is broken down into mini sections. So you don't watch one video for the performance, then the interview, their mixed into two seperate videos. Scorcher & Terminator - F64
After shooting the Spartan hood video Skywalker and Teeeeeeeeee spat a quick F64 for the SB.TV camera. F64 always gives us a good inside into who can actually spit, and who can't. No bars can be repeated. The lyrics have to be brand new, never heard before. This time, it was the turn of Scorcher and Terminator.

Merky Ace - Grime (Free Download) / Interview
Merky Ace returns with this Christmas cracker! Yes, cheesy, but it was too tempting. I could sit here and explain about the promo, what Merky has done and what he's going to do, but, I'll let him do that instead. Check the interview below.
Name: Merky ACE
Age: 17
Location: Lewisham
Crew: Family Tree
Occupation: Self Employed
OUaG: You’ve put in a lot of work this year, how many releases have you actually had overall?
Age: 17
Location: Lewisham
Crew: Family Tree
Occupation: Self Employed
OUaG: You’ve put in a lot of work this year, how many releases have you actually had overall?
Merky: I've released 5 this year but an actual total of 7, "Grime" Is and will be the eighth.
OUaG: ‘Grime’ being another addition to your ever growing collection, where do you rate it against the other promos/mixtapes you’ve made?
Merky: The best yet, I believe all my promo's go up in levels.
OUaG: What can we expect from your promo ‘Grime’?
Merky: Grime. The name reflects what it is, 10 Tracks of Grime with 5 Bonus songs.
OUaG: Any reason why you’re releasing the promo on Christmas Day?
Merky: Not really, it was ready 2 be released this month & I jus thought that would be a good day. I'm not religious or festive, that isn't my type of life.
OUaG: ‘Grime’ is just a promo though, what can we expect in 2010 release wise?
Merky: I'm considering a mixtape next year but right now I'm focusing on my next free release called "Battlefield". Its going to have a lot of tracks and is definatly my best work to date. It will be my 9th promo, so I'm looking to make it have a big impact on the scene. After "Battlefield" I will be bringing out "Best Of Merky ACE 2" which isn't really a promo of new songs so I definatly want "Battlefield" to play a big part in my 10 promo campaign.
OUaG: Your music is entitled ‘100% Grime’, how come your not varying your music style?
Merky: Thats what I do and what I like most. Battlefield will have 2 UK Rap tunes on there but it's still my style of work as I can relate to it. Other then that, Grime is the only music I intend to focus on and produce as there is a lack of artist that you can rely to keep it Grime.
OUaG: You appeared on UrbanFMTV the other night, how did that go for you?
Merky: Was a good set. DJ Spooky on decks is always a personal favourite for me so there was no doubt I was feelin' the vibe.
OUaG: Can we see you on any other radio sets in the near future?
Merky: Yeah definatly, as long as I'm not busy, radio sets will be gettin' torn down by me & the rest of Family Tree.
OUaG: As well as being able to MC, can you produce the odd beat now and then too?
Merky: I wish, producing is always something I've wanted to get into but I guess I don't have the skill for that.
OUaG: Who would you like to work with in the future?
Merky: Other than the Family Tree, I don't really have a person I would like to work with even though I'm up for collabs, my main priority is my crew.
Finally, before we go the standard question now. Anything you want to say or any shout outs before we go?
Merky: Big up Shif Man, TKO, M.I.K, Ego, Splurt, Bleath, Smurf, Yoga & The Killa Omen. Also look out for M.I.K - Grime2Five, Ego - Standard & TKO - Round 1.

Download 'Grime' from either of these hosting sites:
Hammer - Hurricane City EP (Free Download)

Us Grime fans are going to have a good Christmas music wise. Hammer today, Merky Ace & OGz tomorrow and Royal T is also giving away instrumentals starting tomorrow as well. Click the picture to download to download it, and watch Hammer's video below about it.
J2K Feat. Rosie - Don't Let It Go (Free Download)
Today's free daily download includes Roll Deep'er, J2K. I was struggling to find one for today, but after Christmas, there is going to be a few free tracks in CDQ to download. Pre-Order Plan B / Wiley / Skepta / Royal T NOW!
Whoever said Grime was dead clearly doesn't know what Grime is. So many videos has been released recently, as have free downloads and the radio sets have been mad! Three UK artists have put all their latest releases up for pre-order.
First up is Plan B. Yes, he isn't Grime, but has still made a huge impact on the UK music scene, and also within the acting sector too. Appearing in such films as Adulthood and Harry Brown being his most recent films. His most recent track being 'Stay Too Long'. Pick up the CD, 12" Vinyl and 3 MP3s for only £5.99. You'll get the original track alongside the Pendulem Remix and a track off his forthcoming album (The Defamation of Strickland Banks) entitled 'Spend My Money'. Purchase the bundle pack from here which will be ready in January 2010. Watch the Pendulem remix video below.
More closer to the times is Wiley's new release, 'Take That'. Everyone has heard this track by now. Whether it's on Radio 1, 1Xtra or Kiss. The latested track by the Godfather of Grime featuring the help of Chew Fu. This will easily head into the Top 3 of the Top 40 in the charts, a potential number one track if anything. The iTunes release featuring the original edit and the extended mix for £1.49. The release date being the 28th of this month (December). Download on that day from iTunes.
This pre-order being from Skepta of the top Grime crew, Boy Better Know. With the tracklisting, this has to be a mixtape, not an album. I'm a bit confused with the tracklistings to be fair. We have the old track featuring Juelz Santana & the free download Nokia Charger Wire. I think this mixtape is made avaliable to get all the unreleased tracks by Skeppy. Pick this up exclusivly from UkRecordShop from January 25th 2010.
Finally, we finish with a instrumental EP by Royal T, 1UP or Shatap. You may think I've got it wrong, the EP is already out, true. But the reason I've added this to the pre-order list is because it isn't digitally out yet till the 28th like Wiley's new track. The EP being 5 instrumentals strong. Pick up the vinyl here, or log-on to iTunes or Juno on the 28th and find it. There isn't a download link of yet directly to it.
